I love running! That’s no secret. I love doing it, I love talking about it, I love racing, and I love training. I love the easy runs, the hard workouts, and the long runs. But sometimes it just feels good to vent, so that’s what I’m up to today. From shorts without pockets to angry runners in Central Park at 6 AM to GPS watches not finding satellites within eight seconds, here are a few of my running-related gripes. (Also: porta-potty lines at races, bathroom etiquette, and injury-related praise.)
Stuff I Mention on this Episode:
Runner’s World porta-potty story
My 2016 New York City Marathon recap

So ordered the Mighty! Hope it works, looks so cool, thanks for sharing Abi
Oh cool! Let us know 🙂
Loving your podcast! No more rudeness and littering, and a bit of bathroom opening time consistency, you get my vote 🙂
I don’t think you can stream your Spotify on the little iPod, but I found this thing: https://bemighty.com/
Oiselle Distance shorts are the best because of all the pockets. SO MANY POCKETS!
Your toilet statement is so one of my biggest pet peeves. If everyone sat on the seat it would be impossible to get the nasty stuff on the seat …. we are creating our own problem. AAHHH!!
I just want to say i love the idea of being inspired by runners who work on recovering and healing before running again rather than push through their injury. As a recovering injured runner who was finally able to run 1.5 miles yesterday after 8 weeks and who is being smart and not translating that into thinking I can “push through” the Brooklyn half I’m officially giving myself props for taking the time to heal properly. Also I think this means that if I state this on the Internet then I can’t change my mind and do something that stupid 🙂 This is now going to be my 3rd DNS race since March. Love your pet peeves.
So I loved you before but listening today made me lol esp when you talked about the rule binder at hotels. Wanna be bff? Lolz.
YES PLEASE.
Ali, I just wanted to write and say that I am LOVING your podcast. It’s totally addictive! I wish I had the willpower to wait until my next run to listen, but I usually just put it on immediately. Keep being awesome.
