So, it’s Monday.
A regular Monday.
I’m not in Orlando.
I’m not off doing something exciting.
It’s just a Monday, and it’s time for work, and I’m honestly not sure if I remember how to manage a normal, 5-day work week.
If you’re just joining in, this is what you missed in my life this weekend:
- I ran 15.5 miles on Saturday. I’m still really excited about it. I also did some shopping and ate some ice cream.
- On Sunday, I went to Governor’s Island. It was like taking a trip to Great Gatsby-land. Everyone at Governor’s Island was wearing cute outfits.
Last night, after finally digesting the mountains of food I inhaled at the Governor’s Island Food Festival Whatever Thing, I managed to be in bed by 10 pm.
And, because today is a Monday, I didn’t wake up and run this morning. (Mondays are cross-training days.)
So I slept until 6 am.
That is so much sleep for me!
I woke up this morning feeling like a kind of new person.
Not really.
But I am wearing a new outfit. So that counts.

In the spirit of kicking off a new week, I have some goals. I love goals.
Here’s what I want to accomplish this week:
- Get a new license. I’ve been going through life with an expired driver’s license since May. I really need to go get it renewed. I hate the idea of spending a morning at the DMV, but I know it needs to be done.
- Pack lunch at least four days this week. I’ve been spending way too much money at Whole Foods buying ridiculous amounts of hot bar food for lunch. I grocery shopped yesterday and have no excuse not to make a delicious hummus/cucumber/spinach pita daily.
- Cook dinner. No ordering in. No going out. Save money. Eat better.
- Do yoga. Just once. That’s all I ask of myself.
- Get back on the fundraising bandwagon! I’ve been seriously slacking with my Run For The Rabbit efforts. The marathon training is going extremely well, but I haven’t been putting as much time into the fundraising aspect as I would like. So this week I’m ready to step it up.
- Dominate my To Do list. I have a new one! It’s pretty. But it’s also long. I’d like to tackle it by Friday.
- Be a better commenter. I read so many blogs daily but I don’t comment enough simply because I always feel rushed. I promise I’m reading what you’re all writing, though.
Those goals are pretty simple. I basically want to eat better, save money and stretch my sore muscles.
Stay tuned.

your to-do lists totally inspire me! My office note-pads are graph paper and I swiped one last week to make a similarly neat (read: OCD) list to get more done this week! I think it’s such a great tool in personal (and workplace) productivity!
Congrats on the 15 miler! What a run!! I need to meet up with y’all one of these days 🙂 I work with Lindsay so we can definitely make that happen.
My goal for the week: Get more sleep! On that note, I’m headed to beeeed!
I really need to get in the habit of making goals for myself. I do so well on Monday and then the rest of the week goes downhill. I think short goals would help with that.
You know, I never considered having a weekly goal, but it sounds like a good idea to start! My goal this week is to not hit my snooze and wake up early, BUT listen to my body if I need to rest/sleep. My goal is also to pack up my room by Saturday AM so I can move on Saturday afternoon!! The second one is more of a requirement 🙂
Cute skirt!!
Goals this week: survive the Insanity workouts, stopping as little as possible and not overindulging on the M&M machine that sits at my desk which I refilled today!
goals 1) make my shoes work 2) have quality runs 3) catch up with the google reader 4) quality time with the hubby – have a great week 🙂
It sounds like some great things to do this week! My goal this week is to relax- it’s my turn to hang out in Florida! 🙂
Ohh I cannot wait to visit the anthropologie sales rack this weekend! That skirt is so cute. The stores on lower Fifth are my favorite. I’ve been too busy to make a to do list today (never a good sign…), but I’d love to make it to yoga this week too. And get a lot of crap done at work so I can enjoy a summer Friday with my sis!
The DMV does suck, but you can make it more enjoyable if you come prepared! Bring drinks (wine?!? j/k), snacks, and your iphone…maybe you can kill two birds with one stone and comment on blogs whilst you wait in line 😉 I love that you love “to do lists” – organization makes my heart happy!
To run at least 3x…. feel productive at work… email my parents every day… and book a hotel room in Belgium!
Goals for this week:
– Run my first 5K race
– Not embarrass myself while wearing heels to a work event (I’m horrible in heels)
– Bring lunch every day
– Find a good strength training work out
What a cute skirt (and top!) Sounds like you’re going to have a great week ahead. I typically bring my lunch every day because I can’t justify $10 salads or sandwiches I could make myself. But, if Whole Foods was closer I’d probably be tempted by the hot bar way too often. This week, my major goal is to get flights booked for a labor day getaway…too bad that’s entirely dependent on if my friends can make up their minds 🙂
Cute top!!
Yes! My goals include packing healthy lunches for the week to bring to work the next day, and to stick to this new Paleo way of eating (grain and dairy free) my boyfriend and I are experimenting with for the month – just started today so should be interesting..
Your skirt is so pretty!
My goals for this week are unfortunately mundane things like doing laundry that has been piling up for a week and restocking my fridge! Ugh. I’m bored just writing about it.
I’m obsessed with your top. Wearing white freaks me out because I’m clumsy, though.
My goals for this week:
Yoga once – even if it’s just a podcast! I’ve been seriously slacking during tri training, which is no good.
3 morning workouts – I HATE morning workouts but I’m trying to embrace them
Bike outside twice (on my poor little too-small mountain bike)
Goals are aweseome. Mine? Make it to the pool to swim at least once this week, and mend my tent before going camping this weekend!
My goals this week are to complete all scheduled workouts, finish my book, and try some new recipes. I love that you are a big goal person. Me too!
Love the outfit, that skirt is so cute!
This week I will….
– get back on the gym horse
– stop going to Starbroke
– eat the lunch I bring to work and NOT go out instead
– more stretching & yoga
I love your goals. I got a little off track with life for a bit, but I just reinstated the To-Do list and I feel so much more productive and organized. I just need to figure out how to make my lists as pretty as yours. Happy Monday!
I loooove that skirt!!
Goals for me this week:
– drink more water
– get up early to work out before work
– no eating out this week…. or eating hospital cafeteria food rather at work (woof)
I am trying so hard to take advantage of my work subsidized lunches, but I get so bored. THanks for the added inspiration.
Love the skirt lady! My major goal for this week is to create a to do list of goals. Seriously. 😉
Happy training!
Great goals! I really want to…
Go spinning 3x this week.
Do yoga once this week.
Run 3x this week.
Dominate my to-do list.
My goals this week are so bring lunch everyday! (also spending way too much money on lunch)
I went to TJ’s and spend $50.00 and got groceries for the week!
I also would like to go to yoga this week.. I am thinking Wed night at Strala 🙂
Keep up with my running 🙂
LOVE TJ’s, it makes living in NY possible 🙂
CUTE skirt!! Love the color scheme. I was wondering if that was Anthropologie and then I saw the caption. Love it. Congrats on the 15.5 miles! That is truly amazing.
I’m afraid to set any running goals this week bc of the heat advisory today and tomorrow. But I do have a 5k on Thursday!
Check out DMV express on 34th. The wait might not be terrible.
And your top is gorgeous!
Great goals! One of my goals for the week is to tackle several overlapping training schedules for a sprint tri, Olympic tri, half marathon and marathon all in the next seven months. I <3 racing! 🙂
Congrats (sorry I’m a little late on this) on the PDR – you rocked it out sista!! Not that I had any doubt that you would 🙂 Love your goals for this week!! My goal is to get through the final days of the 60 day barre n9ne challenge without crying. I don’t want it to end!
These are great goals! I want to up the amount of time I’m job searching…I graduated in May, and I’m determined to find a job by the end of this month!
I’m right there with you on the packing lunches and making dinner. I swear all of my money goes straight to food. I love the outfit!!
Some weekly goals: Take hot yoga tomorrow morning before my 5-hour drive to NY, learn the kick routine I have to teach on Wed/Thurs, find a 16 Handles on Long Island (help?).
xo Marie
Chocolate & Wine
Get started on my research.
Organize my room = trips to bed, bath, and beyond and container store
Get rid of some clothes
Run!
Figure out how I want to tackle Sat’s race and long run this weekend
Not order food, as well!
I love having goals. I don’t think I’d do anything without them.
Goal for the week: complete a 7-8 mile test drive long run on Wednesday in anticipation of a 15k race on Saturday. Hopefully my pregnant body will respond well because I really want to do a race!
Hmmm… Goals might be a good idea for the week. I’ll jump on board. Main goal must be more sleep. I was doing well with the 10pm lights out until the sun was out until 9pm. I will get a 10pm lights out (starting tomorrow – movies tonight).
I love your outfit!
I have a lot of goals this week on my seemingly never-ending to-do list! The big ones? Put away all the clean laundry we spent all weekend doing. (Silly, I know.) And get in touch with my doc to answer some questions I need answered.
Have a great week!
I am the same with the laundry. It takes two days to finish washing and drying them. Fold and put away takes the rest of the week.
Cute outfit! I love your top. Haha that reminds me of that viral video… “let me borrow that top.” Remember that? Goal for this week is to get through it. I have more going on right now than ever. I just need to make it through in one piece.
Goal for this week… hmm – I want to get to Yoga once too (though I am already doubting my ability to complete this goal..) ..
And I also want to finish the book I am reading!
