Ali On The Mend

I was in bed by 10:30 last night. I took two Tylenol PM tablets and I was out. I didn’t get up until 6:45 this morning.

I don’t remember the last time I got a full 8 hours of sleep. I wish I could say those quality hours did the trick, but unfortunately I woke up this morning with the same nagging sore throat that’s been bugging me the past few days.

This morning I tried gargling salt water, but failed at that. Though I did feel really sexy spewing water all over the kitchen. That was hot.

I’m at the office now, but I have a doctor’s appointment at 11 am. Hopefully they’ll be able to give me some answers — or at least some good throat numbers! I don’t have a stuffy nose or any other major symptoms behind achiness.

Fingers crossed it’s not strep.

Since I’m sick, today’s outfit is lazy-town. The same baggy jeans I wore yesterday with one of my coziest sweaters.

Oh so comfy

The jeans are J.Crew (outlet!) and the sweater is from Urban Outfitters (majorly on sale!).

TELL ME: What are your sick day comfort foods? I’m not a huge chicken noodle soup person — and I usually tend to lose my appetite when I’m not feeling well — but I do love Lipton Noodle Soup paired with a grilled cheese sandwich. (Now who wants to come make it for me? Anyone?)

  1. make Mom’s tuna casserole and substitute the tuna for ~1 lb. cooked chicken (cut up into bite sized pieces)…! rice, not noodles

  2. Sorry you’re sick! I’d say any type of soup- not necessarily chicken noodle. I like won ton soup, or even chicken tortilla soup when I’m sick. Also, hot tea is a must! Hope you recover quickly!!

  3. I love that outfit–you look comfy but put together. It’s hard for me to manage both at the same time 🙂 I always crave saltines when I’m sick for some reason.

  4. I’m a chicken noodle soup fan, it’s my cure for everything (sickness, hangovers etc). Be sure to drink lots of fluids (Smart Water is my personal choice) and keep getting lots of rest. Watch some Friends too, that is my other cure for any problem! Hope you feel better soon!!

  5. im impressed with your ability to still bust out a good smile even when you’re under the weather! keep resting, listen to your doctor and get better fast!

my fave sick day foods are toast, sorbet and fruit.

  6. love Lipton noodle soup when I am sick…especially the double noodle soup…I also like Panera’s french onions soup when sick..yum..hope you feel better soon!

  7. Glad you got some sleep, I hope you feel better! I really swear by Cold-EEZE. I crave chocolate pudding (from the box, not a ready made cup) when I am sick. I think it is because I got to eat that when I had my tonsils out when I was 8, and it was so delicious that I just always want it when I am sick.
