An Ode To Lady Friends

People say girls are catty. People say girls gossip. People say girls are fake.

OK, maybe. Sometimes.

But today — and most days in general — my girls were life savers.

All day long I was showered with love from my lady friends. College roommates, blogger buddies, new acquaintances… People came out of the woodwork today when they heard I was feeling sad.

And I love them for that.

Lauren surprised me at my office and took me out for lunch (ahem, liquid lunch…champagne cocktails…don’t tell!). She also came carrying Godiva chocolates.

Teddy sent me a delicious (and beautiful) Edible Arrangement.

Healthy and delicious!

Don’t worry, I shared.

Dee, Courtney and Dana were in constant contact with me all day. College memories and movie quotes were flying about.

Sara, Ashley, Theodora and Dori came to my aid when I had NYC-related questions. Blogger friends are fabulous friends.

Ashley and I: the first time we met in person!

To cap off the night, I joined Nari and Danielle — my Mexico travel buddies — for a fabulous dinner (with wine).

Danielle, Nari and me: with tans!

And of course, there’s the ultimate girlfriend: my mom.

Mom and me in Napa Valley after I ran my first half marathon!

So this is a special shout out to the wonderful women in my life. (You know who you are — not just the ones mentioned in this post. Becky, Sarah, you know I love you both.) Ladies, I would not be where I am without your love, support, laughter and hugs. Thank you for being the best support system a girl could ask for. I love you.

TELL ME: Are you a girl’s girl or a guy’s girl? I used to say I was a guy’s girl and I got along better with dudes than ladies. But lately I’ve realized just how much I value the strong female friendships in my life.

  1. Love you Real Best Freind. I’m here for you always! You are beautiful, smart, and caring, all will be ok! Plus, we might get to see each other in a month, wohoo!

  2. I was a guy’s girl for a really long time, then about 7 years ago it 100% flipped and I met amazing girls who I made an amazing bond with. Mostly all of them have moved on now to different lives as have I, but I would give anything to have my friends back. You are an amazing wonderful and very lucky person to have so many people that care about you. Make sure you treasure it!

    1. Yes! New photo soon 🙂 I debated posting one of our recent finish line photos! Hehe.

I post through the WordPress Dashboard, and when you upload photos there’s a box to fill in the captions. Not sure which program you’re using when you post, but this is the only way I know!

      1. And it depends on your theme. My WordPress theme doesn’t allow for captions, so when I choose that option they just show as normal text. I wish I knew to test this before deciding on a theme.
