Run Round 2

I said I didn’t want to talk about the weather — but now I do.

Today. Was. Gorgeous.

I know that we all shouldn’t get too excited. The 60-degree temperatures we experienced are apparently going to drop back into the 40s tomorrow.

When I left work, all I could think about was running. I wanted to run in single layers.

I am aware that I ran this morning. But I just couldn’t resist tonight. I wore capri pants and a tank top and was perfectly comfortable.

I wasn’t wearing my watch, but I felt fast. The East River path was packed with people walking, playing with their dogs and smiling.

Warm weather = happy people.

The run was amazing. I did 3 miles, for a total of 6 miles today. But I wasn’t running for mileage (or to burn off the three cookies and ice cream cake I ate at the office today). I was running because I love it. Tonight made me realize how true that is.

The view looks a little different at night, doesn’t it?

I honestly don’t remember the last time I ran at night. I forgot how magical it can be.

OK, now I’m getting beyond cheesy.

I’m showered (I washed my hair tonight!) and getting ready to go out for a friend’s birthday.

Happy long weekend, everyone!

TELL ME: How did you enjoy the beautiful day today?

  1. Gorgeous! I had a rest day when it was perfect for running because I am heading out for 20 this morning. 20 miles in bitter cold and wind. Silly, Mother Nature!
