Happy Weekend!
I am so, so happy it’s Saturday. This week took a major toll on me. Naturally I didn’t let myself sleep in today, but I’m thinking an afternoon nap might be in my very near future.
Last night ABS and I went out with our friend Roper (yup, the one who helped me move — phenomenal guy) for his birthday. Apparently two glasses of Pinot Grigio is all it takes for me to get giggly. What can I say — I’m a [relatively] cheap date.
After doing Happy Hour at a bar in midtown, we headed back up to our neighborhood for some Mexican food. I went to town on a huge plate of steak fajitas and the boys enjoyed these manly drinks:

Apparently while the rest of the world is going Vegan with Oprah, I’m consuming all the red meat they’re leaving behind. Oops. (Totally support all of you though! Keep up the great work! Cleanse those bodies!)
ABS and I were completely exhausted and when we got home, we both fell asleep immediately.
Now it’s 7 am and I’m ready to take on the weekend!
Here’s what’s in store for today:
- Trying out a new class at the gym: Suspension Ride. Apparently it’s 30 minutes of spin followed by 30 minutes of TRX. Not sure if I’m into the fusion thing, but I’ll report back later to let you know how it goes.
- Picking up my race bib at the NYRR offices for tomorrow’s Gridiron Classic. It’s so nice and convenient that the offices are right near my apartment. Score!
- Stopping by Erica’s trunk show at Exhale Spa!I love meeting bloggers! And if you’re in NYC you should stop by, too. Her jewelry is stunning.
- Shopping! Weather permitting. I may just crash on the couch for a while. But if it stays nice out, I need to do some birthday shopping for a certain someone whose birthday is on February 16.

This weekend we are “celebrating” our anniversary by painting, yay! Seriously though, I’m excited to be painting our sterile white walls. I got a 10mi run in this morning then came home to paint, paint, paint. I can’t wait till it’s done and everything is back in it’s place!
Good luck tomorrow!!

Looks like fun! And I cracked up at your red meat and Oprah vegan comment. I feel like I’m right there with you.
I love the Blue Ponies! Haha! I’m also jealous that you are going to that trunk show. I really want to order a marathon necklace from her. The pieces are great!
Have a great day! Get pumped for your race tomorrow. I love races!
Good luck tomorrow! Have you settled on any other NYRR races yet?
haha, I’m totally right there with you eating all the meat that the vegans are leaving behind. Gotta do my part, right? ; )
Have you ever done a TRX class before? They have them in San Francisco and I’ve yet to try them out. My plans for the weekend are to recharge from the week, go to my prereq class for grad school, and enjoy the superbowl with friends 🙂
Yes, I’ve done TRX a few times — I really like it! I definitely recommend trying a class. It took me a class to figure out how to get my body aligned and how to really use my body weight to make the exercises more difficult/easier. But once I got the hang of it, I loved it! Let me know if you try a class!
it’s going to be pretty low key and i’m trying to convince myself to go to the gym. i haven’t been since i saw you at spin on wednesday! i want to burn calories!
Good luck at the race tomorrow! Maybe I’ll see ya there!
Good luck to you too! Should be a great day for the race!
I slept until 930 instead of taking an AM spin class. Clearly this week left me exhausted too!
Those drinks look so delicious! Love the name haha
Haha. I’m pretty sure the boys only drink them because they think it’s hilarious to ask for “a round of blue ponies.”
The suspension ride sounds awesome- can’t wait to hear about it. Have a good weekend!
Very curious to hear about Suspension Ride! Hope to see you at the trunk show.
If I don’t go to Boston, I do want to go shopping. Still deciding. Let me know what your plans are!
